Temp SEASONAL GROUNDS MAINTENANCE Enjoy working outdoors and making a visible impact in your community? We’re looking for a dependable Grounds Maintenance worker to support the City of Vancouver’s Public Works team this season!! WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE Work Outdoors: Spend your days maintaining trails and green spaces across the City of Vancouver. Community Impact: Help keep public parks and trail systems clean, safe, and enjoyable for residents. LOCATION : Vancouver, WA SALARY : $21 per hour SCHEDULE : Full-Time/Part-Time, Weekly Schedule/Shift Requirements, Working Hours, Job Type (Temporary, Temporary-to-Hire, Direct Hire), Job Duration
Requirements
- Experience with construction, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or DIY projects preferred
- Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required
- The position works primarily outdoors and requires exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying materials throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and load/unload equipment regularly.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the city’s 12 mile trail system through litter control, trimming shrubs, and weed removal
- Inspect restroom facilities and restock supplies as needed
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment from work trucks
- Assist with planting native plants and shrubs
- Support general grounds maintenance and upkeep projects
