About The Position

Seasonal Streets Maintenance Worker – Temporary performs manual labor in the maintenance of county roads. Maintenance duties vary by district and may include shoveling, raking, and sweeping asphalt. Perform traffic control duties such as flagging and sign placement, culvert maintenance, and snow plowing. Operate light and medium equipment. Position requires availability to respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by reporting to an assigned shop within one hour of being called. We have openings available at Road & Bridge Golden Central Shop and Littleton South Shop. COMPENSATION: Hiring Range: $24.74-$29.69 USD Hourly Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills. We offer an additional $2.50/hour Remote Location Differential to all employees who work at our mountain shops (Shaffers, Critchell, Evergreen, Lookout Mtn., Indian Hills, Coal Creek). BENEFITS: Benefits of Working at Jeffco Road & Bridge: PPE including Hard Hat, Vests, Safety Glasses, Gloves, and Ear Protection Reimbursements for Safety Toe Shoes Well Maintained Late Model Equipment & Trucks Promotional Opportunities See more details on our Employment Benefits website ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist in performing road maintenance operations, including repaving roads, filling potholes, applying crack-seal, repairing concrete, street sweeping, maintaining gutters and drainage, gravel road maintenance, and snow removal from county-maintained roadways. Perform snow removal operations utilizing light and heavy equipment. Operate equipment and tools as necessary, such as mower, chain saw, and hand tools. Perform equipment and vehicle pre/post-trip inspections as defined by federal guidelines and inspect other items affecting safe operations. Assist with inspecting and preparing all equipment for safe use by performing routine maintenance. Prepare equipment for specific uses by making necessary modifications. Plan and request maintenance service and repair for specific equipment. Perform other general maintenance duties, routine cleaning, lubricating and minor maintenance, as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old by hire date.
  • Valid Driver’s License for 2 consecutive years prior to hire date. If from out of state, must obtain a Colorado Driver’s License within 30 days of hire.
  • Must obtain Flagger Certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and report to an assigned shop within one hour of being called.
