About The Position

YMCA OF MEMPHIS AND THE MIDSOUTH PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE PURPOSE OF POSITION: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the general supervision of the Food Executive Director the Production Associate team members assist in preparation and delivery of the meals for our Food Program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage Take and record the temperature of food and food storage areas Operate packaging machinery Pack and place food in refrigerators for storage or in trucks for transport. Requirements

Work a flexible part time schedule.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to read, speak and understand English
Ages 18 and older.
Ability to perform activities which require sustained concentration and attention.
Ability to perform tasks that are repetitive
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and give consistent and accurate product
