About The Position

Ready to work each day amidst the sand dunes and pines, offering guests the true and lasting beauty of Provincetown and Old Cape Cod? As the Night Ranger at Dune’s Edge, you and your team of dedicated seasonal employees will contribute to the Trustees’ mission by caring for this quaint, special campground and fostering a camping experience that visitors will remember for years to come. The Trustees of Reservations (TTOR) is seeking friendly, patient, and attentive night rangers to work at Dunes Edge Campground. As the night ranger, you will support the daily operations and maintenance of Dunes Edge Campground and its camp spots as well as retail and recreational operations. You will support the manager in providing a safe, clean and enjoyable visitor experience for campers and ensuring that the campground is operating efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and some overnights.
  • Sound computer skills (MS Office programs).
  • Ability to drive 4WD vehicles; experience with the operation of power tools is preferred.
  • CPR & First Aid certification (highly desirable)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of campground operations and regulations.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
  • A valid driver’s license, as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees’ driving policy.
  • A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hotel operations campground or retail management is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Patrol the beaches after business hours 3 PM to 10 PM.
  • Support campground operations, including the maintenance of facilities, grounds and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
  • Support development and maintenance of campground policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
  • Process reservations, handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints.
  • Support marketing strategies to attract new customers, including use of social media accounts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by regularly seeking feedback and addressing concerns
  • Enforce rules and regulations; exercise confidence and calm demeanor and be articulate when confronted by uncooperative visitors and when handling emergencies.
  • Educate visitors about The Trustees mission and encourage them to become active members; direct visitors to membership brochures, distribute flyers to the public, and on bulletin boards.
  • Greet visitors in a welcoming manner, while wearing a Trustees uniform at all times.
  • Assist with property maintenance and endangered species/habitat conservation management.
  • Answer questions about The Trustees and the history and ecology of the properties.
  • Assist and/or manage OSV logistics and closures.
  • Have opportunities to work in a team setting and as an individual.
  • Implement basic first aid and emergency response protocols when required, opportunity for CPR certification provided.
  • Help maintain clean facilities, parking lot, and other areas as needed.
  • Report safety concerns, incidents, and maintenance needs.
  • Effectively and professionally manage visitor complaints. Accurately report incidents according to Trustees policy.
  • Conduct all activities in compliance within all safety guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
