The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks qualified applicants for the position of Seasonal Maintenance Equipment Operator I Salaries are based upon full-time/40 hours worked per week. Work schedules and days off are at the discretion of the Supervisor. This position may require working weekends and/or holidays. Safety Sensitive Positions require that the employee participate in the DCR Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program Policy and may be subject to a Pre-placement and Random DOT Drug and Alcohol testing. Incumbents in this position will operate heavy power-operated equipment such as backhoes, front-end loaders and bulldozers used in the construction, maintenance and/or repair of roadways, parkways, parks, etc.; operates heavy dump trucks, tractor-drawn mowers, surf rakes and other equipment for beach, highway and grounds maintenance; operates light vehicles such as passenger cars and panel trucks for transporting personnel and materials; performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment and maintains records The basic purpose of this work is to operate heavy power-operated and other equipment used in excavating, grading and other activities to construct, maintain and/or repair roadways, parkways, roadsides, parks, beaches and other projects. Schedule and shift are at the discretion of the supervisor. Salary is based on a 40 hour/week schedule. May be required to work weekends/holidays. Working outside in all types of weather is required.
