About The Position

Maintain safety of reservoirs and water storage ponds, conduct release and storage of water in reservoirs in a safe and timely manner. Maintenance of supply equipment and properties. This seasonal position may be required to work weekends and Holidays. Hiring for two positions; these positions will work approximately May – September 2026. LOCATION: Start at Bellvue Water Treatment Plant and travel throughout Poudre Canyon

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record (MVR and background check required).
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Experience performing janitorial, grounds and mechanical maintenance.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work independently, along with and/or in groups.
  • Ability to properly use hand and power tools to maintain facility.
  • Ability to accurately input, retrieve, and verify work assignments.
  • Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with supervisors, co-workers, and general public.
  • Computer skills, including working knowledge of PC-based methods, SCADA and software in Microsoft windows environment including, Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and the ability to learn and experiment with new software and systems.
  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others.
  • Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of grounds around Overland Trail Ponds Ex. Operating mowers and weed whackers and trimming or removing brush from around ponds.
  • Maintenance of reservoir grounds including dam outlet, outlet structures, roads, gates, fences, electrical structures, removal of driftwood, maintenance of ditches, maintenance of operation cabins, dam safety, recordkeeping, data storage, store and release of water from reservoirs.
  • Preventive Maintenance of equipment, large and small, oil changes, minor mechanical work.
  • Maintain dam safety – inspections and repairs, security of dam, and water.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and other times.
  • Learn the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants.
  • Learning how to read and interpret gauges and meters used in regulating operations of plant equipment.
  • Learning to monitor objects and data for compliance and operating standards.
  • Learning to perform daily record keeping, water quality sampling, and routine laboratory analysis.
  • Learning to record and maintain data; collect and analyze water samples.
  • Learning to perform other functions such as janitorial, grounds and mechanical maintenance.
  • Follow written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Attend safety sessions and keep informed about safety and emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
