About The Position

The Kisbee Captain is a lead service professional responsible for driving the pace, energy, and execution of service on the rooftop. This role acts as the on-shift service leader, ensuring the team is aligned, service standards are upheld, and guests receive an elevated, seamless experience. The Captain works within the tip pool alongside the team, providing direction, support, and real-time decision-making while actively participating in service. This position is outlined as a seasonal position. Traditionally seasons runs through 10/31/2026, but the seasonal status and dates are subject to change based on business levels and weather.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a high-volume bar, restaurant, or rooftop environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead from the floor and positively influence team performance
  • Strong communication and real-time decision-making skills
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Familiarity with POS systems and service standards
  • Will be required to obtain Lifeguard certification
  • Outdoor rooftop environment with exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and active service throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Act as the floor leader during service, maintaining flow across the bar, pool deck, and lounge areas
  • Lead by example through active service (taking tables, running drinks/food, engaging guests)
  • Ensure consistent, elevated service standards across all team members
  • Anticipate service needs and adjust positioning of team members in real time
  • Provide real-time coaching and direction to servers, bartenders, and support staff
  • Assist in executing pre-shift lineups, including communicating priorities, events, and VIPs
  • Reinforce accountability for section ownership, side work, and service standards
  • Step into any role as needed to maintain service flow and guest experience
  • Act as a point of escalation for guest needs and service recovery
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor, engaging with guests to enhance the experience
  • Ensure the rooftop delivers a high-energy, polished, and attentive environment
  • Support opening and closing responsibilities, ensuring the space is fully set and reset to standards
  • Assist with bar flow, batching, and product readiness during peak periods
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization across all service areas
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and responsible alcohol service standards
