About The Position

About the Role: We are looking for a passionate, talented Seasonal Veterinary Kennel and Intake Technician (January through May) to join our team. The Kennel and Intake Technician role is a unique position that offers immense growth potential. The Kennel and Intake Technician is responsible for collecting and recording detailed patient histories upon intake. This role also offers support to our clinical staff by ensuring hospital cleanliness throughout the day. This position offers the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive and caring environment. Requirements

  • Veterinary Assistant Certificate or some Veterinary/Kennel Attendant experience
  • Excellent understanding of technology and software; computer-savvy
  • Consistently displays a professional demeanor and accountability
  • Communicates in a calm, clear, respectful and concise manner (with clients, team members and any other visitors)
  • Has a friendly disposition and a desire to help others: provides a high level of care to each client
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to think independently and problem solve.
  • Understands that each situation is unique and there is no “one size fits all” solution to certain issues; uses good judgment to find proper solutions for each situation
  • High emotional intelligence, empathy and maturity
  • Performs well in a team-oriented work environment
  • Displays excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients with warmth and empathy
  • Escort clients and patients to exam rooms
  • Collect thorough patient history in an efficient manner
  • Record patient history and communication notes properly in each chart
  • Review information with doctor and ensure patient is properly assigned in ezyVet
  • Utilize the team chat to discuss necessary updates
  • Run laundry consistently.
  • Ensure clean towels and bedding are available at all times
  • Clean and disinfect exam rooms promptly after use
  • Clean and disinfect kennels promptly after use
  • Regularly clean and disinfect the patient treatment area
  • Collect and remove trash and patient waste
  • Other duties as needed/assigned
