The Human Resources Training Coordinator plays a crucial, seasonal role in ensuring operational readiness by preparing all new and returning seasonal hosts for the upcoming season. This involves leading comprehensive orientation programs and specialized training focused on updating policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and delivering exceptional Heartspitality guest service. The coordinator also assists the Human Resources department with high-volume seasonal recruitment, records management, uniform management, employee events, and helping to maintain positive employee relations. We are currently looking for a: Lake Compounce - Seasonal Human Resources Training Specialist Roles & Responsibilities: The Human Resources Training Coordinator plays a crucial, seasonal role in ensuring operational readiness by preparing all new and returning seasonal hosts for the upcoming season. This involves leading comprehensive orientation programs and specialized training focused on updating policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and delivering exceptional Heartspitality guest service. The coordinator also assists the Human Resources department with high-volume seasonal recruitment, records management, uniform management, employee events, and helping to maintain positive employee relations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws
  • Weekend availability is required for this position.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
  • Ability to portray a positive, professional attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive employee data
  • Must be comfortable presenting in front of many employees during training sessions
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively with a wide range of diverse personnel and guests
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Ability to use office technology and equipment, such as PC, software, and copier
  • Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, while using a computer
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time throughout the workday
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of related work experience in HR or Training highly desired.
  • College education preferred but equivalent work experience will also be considered
  • Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome hosts and guests with a smile and positive attitude
  • Professionally and legally represent Lake Compounce to ensure continued compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Distribute uniforms and keep track of inventory
  • Create host ID badges and name tags
  • Schedule host orientations and ensure all hosts complete the required onboarding activities
  • Conduct Park tours for new employees
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of exciting host events
  • Ensure that each employee is hired into Workday and has completed all onboarding tasks prior to start of orientation
  • Assist with the creation of learning content for orientation and other scheduled training sessions
  • Respond to host inquiries via phone and email
  • Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of other Human Resources positions and backfill these positions when needed
  • Perform copying, filing and various other administrative duties
  • All other duties assigned by leadership
