The Human Resources Lead will oversee aspects of recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and internal communications. This person will also participate in other administrative duties as assigned by the Human Resources leadership. Our Leads will also act as trainers for our orientation program and will be required to participate in orientation activities. This position is seasonal and will end on or around 12/31/2026, with the opportunity to return in early 2027. Requirements

  • 1+ years of previous work experience in an HR role preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to frequently work hours that extend beyond 9 AM to 5 PM during the operating season
  • Ability to exude unwavering professionalism toward guests, hosts, management and other human resources contacts
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive employee data
  • Ability to use office technology and equipment, such as PC, software, and copier
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Experience analyzing and reacting to trends
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to remain seated and use computer for several hours of the workday
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor setting for extended periods of time
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasional bending, squatting and reaching above shoulders
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Recruitment, HR Management, Leadership and Training & Development are preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience hiring a seasonal workforce is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead a capable team of HR Specialists and/or HR Coordinators
  • Review and screen applications, conduct candidate interviews and extend offers of employment
  • Distribute team member uniforms and keep track of inventory
  • Create team member ID badges and name tags
  • Schedule seasonal hosts for orientation, and ensure team members attend department-specific training; keep track of this data using our systems
  • Conduct new hire orientations, ensuring all team members complete the program
  • Using Workday, hire all employees and make sure all onboarding tasks are completed prior to new hire orientation
  • Gather all necessary documents from team members for proper I9 completion, and process I9s
  • Assist with data entry into HRIS and Learning systems
  • Assists employees with Workday navigation and password resets
  • Assist with timekeeping for assigned departments
  • Participate alongside manager and/or director in local and regional job fairs at the high school, college, and professional level
  • Responsible for coaching HR hosts and providing disciplinary action when necessary, with the assistance of the HR Supervisor
  • Report any feedback from seasonal or full-time employees to improve processes, job satisfaction and/or guest satisfaction efforts to HR leadership
  • Evaluate current HR processes and propose alternative solutions or process improvements
  • Assist with the coordination of team member events
  • Respond to team member inquiries via phone and email
  • Copying, filing and various other duties as assigned
