The Galveston Park Board, established in 1963, is a specialized governmental unit responsible for overseeing Galveston's tourism efforts, Galveston Island Beach Patrol (GIPB), and Coastal Zone Management (CZM). It is primarily funded through Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) and beach user fees, without collecting sales or property tax. The organization's mission is to promote and support tourism on Galveston Island to foster an environment that makes it a great place to live, work, and visit. Your duties include checking buildings, grounds, and guest facilities, performing routine maintenance such as basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work.
