About The Position

Under supervision of the Park Manager, has the responsibility of greeting park guests, providing the public with general information of the park rules and its amenities. This is a temporary non-supervisory position. Accountable for following the park policies and the collection of "conservation fees" and preparing revenue report at end of shift. Exercise proper customer ethics to remedy disgruntled guests. General point of contact Reports to Park Manager. Communicates with the public, park guests, gate attendants and other co-workers.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate is preferred but not required.
  • Must have good people person skills, and good cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Must enjoy working with the public, have good verbal communication skills, and be able to present a professional image.
  • Must enjoy working in an outdoor setting, be physically fit.
  • Ability to speak English/Spanish is desirable.
  • References will be thoroughly checked.
  • Must be able to follow oral instructions.
  • Must be able to perform strenuous work in the outdoor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in both English and Spanish.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with the public and other employees.
  • Physical requirements may include lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Subject to handling, sitting, walking, standing, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential job functions.
  • Working conditions will be in the outdoor setting.
  • Will be required to occasionally drive a county owned vehicle and use equipment as needed.
  • Weekend, Holiday and Evening work required.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid State of Texas Driver's License with good driving record is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for greeting guests and customers in a proper courteous and professional manner.
  • Provide the public with information regarding the amenities of the parks, park hours, fees and park policies.
  • Direct complaints to proper division manager, or assistant manager.
  • Accountable for the appropriate collection of conservation fees.
  • Exercises operation and maintenance of entrance gate booth and equipment.
  • Receive and transmit radio communications with office and other park division staff.
  • Responsible for general park duties including: litter collection, maintaining beach areas and entrance areas to remain free of any litter.
