SEASONAL EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - STREET DEPT
About The Position
The incumbent under the guidance of the Streets Supervisor is responsible for assisting the maintenance personnel and helping to maintain the city streets and city right of ways. May also help to maintain city road and pavement markings and traffic signs. Note: All City of Fort Smith positions require the employee to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees, and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Must show cooperation and respect to fellow employees and supervisors at all times.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
- Minimum of one-year general labor work experience in construction or maintenance is preferred but not required.
- Must be proficient in the use of mowing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform dirt work duties and patch potholes as needed.
- Operate all related equipment and tools in a safe manner.
- Assist in cement work when needed.
- Operate a tractor, brushog, sprayer, and/or riding mower.
- Regular attendance and timeliness are required.
