We have great opportunities available from May through August (with the possibility of applying for full time positions following the end of the seasonal employment period). Work schedules are up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and maintains accurate records.
  • Documents and track activities to ensure compliance of organizational processes.
  • Identifies gaps in documents, or potential areas of non-compliance, and suggest resolutions.
  • Periodically reviews and reports on the certification statues of wastewater operators.
  • Responds to inspection reports and other correspondence from IDEM, and other regulatory agencies, relating to compliance, permitting, design, construction and operation of wastewater treatment plants and wastewater discharges from water plant operations.
  • Reviews and analyzes new and proposed wastewater regulations; informs management of potential impacts of the regulations, and prepares written comments on the regulations as needed.
  • Schedules sampling for all systems at the appropriate times and assist operators and managers with sampling issues.
  • Records and monitors test results on Excel or database spreadsheets.
  • Contacts the State to correct any discrepancies.
  • Ensures compliance with sampling requirements by reviewing chain of custody forms, check sample codes, and work with the labs to ensure complete and accurate paperwork for each sample and track sample results.
  • Ensures that all monthly and quarterly samples are collected.
  • Reviews the test results for compliance.
  • Reports any exceeding amounts to the responsible departments (internal managers).
  • Drafts compliance reports and compiles data for reports.
  • Organizes and tracks compliance work for inclusion in reports, including field data.
  • Plots and graphs data, and tracks compliance.
  • Ensures timely preparation and filing of all compliance reports and permits.
  • Reviews inspection reports and regulatory correspondence.
  • Shares information with others electronically and draft response letters.
  • Issues work orders for compliance repairs.
  • Meets with operators and managers to discuss inspection reports.
  • Assists in the resolution or response to compliance violations.
  • Performs other assignments as required.
