About The Position

The Seasonal Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and monitoring last-mile delivery operations within the MDC. This role ensures that all deliveries are executed within required time windows while maintaining accuracy, driver accountability, and customer service standards. This position plays a critical role in real-time decision-making—balancing route optimization, driver communication, and issue resolution in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Clean driving record
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Effective communication skills with the ability to direct and support drivers in real time
Basic problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages relevant to workforce/customer base)
Prior dispatch, logistics, or delivery coordination experience

Responsibilities

Assign and dispatch delivery routes to drivers, ensuring optimal routing and efficient use of resources
Monitor routes throughout the day and proactively address delays, reroutes, or service disruptions
Ensure all deliveries are completed within required delivery windows, including time-sensitive orders (e.g., schools, hospitals, funeral homes, businesses, and residential customers)
Maintain consistent communication with drivers to track delivery progress and provide direction as needed
Ensure drivers complete required delivery confirmations, including photo capture and system updates for both morning and evening routes
Verify all required order attachments and documentation are accurate prior to driver departure
Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure vans are in safe working condition and free of visible damage
Escalate maintenance or safety concerns in a timely manner
Complete required operational reports accurately and on time
Track and document delivery performance, exceptions, and issues as needed
Support additional MDC operations as needed, including making deliveries, receiving vendor shipments, boxing product, floral processing, or general facility support
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
