Joining our staff means working to your full potential in a dynamic and diverse environment that strives for equity for all. Position Summary Train, supervise, and provide support to camp counselors. Coordinate weekly with counselor staff, ensuring all staff members’ needs are being met. Be an active participant in campers’ experience and camp community. Uphold all policies, procedures, and safety standards for the wellbeing of staff and campers. This seasonal full-time position is needed at Camp Alice Chester in East Troy, WI from the end of May 2026 through the end of July 2026. What You’ll Do Provide administrative oversight, advice, and support to counselor staff. Prepare and conduct pre-camp and in-service staff training. Monitor staff morale among camp counselors and ensure breaks are being taken properly. Be responsible for the logging and tracking of finances for program area. Oversee set-up of camper units and assist with initial and end-of-season inventories and storage of equipment for safety. Observe and interact with campers and counselors to promote a positive experience at camp. Help counselors resolve conflicts between themselves and other staff appropriately. Provide support and guidance to counselors as they deal with camper behavioral concerns. Be available to debrief with campers / staff in situations where emergency actions are needed or advised. Be available to step into situations that may arise during the camp and provide necessary assistance to the counselors. Consult and guide staff to monitor the overall well-being of the campers and camp community. Interpret, enforce, and teach state, American Camp Association, and Girl Scouts standards. Comprehend, monitor, and be willing to assist with the execution of crisis management plans and overall safety guidelines, including emergency procedures. Assist in the opening and closing of camp for the season. Engage in learning to build skills towards respectfully interacting with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, and races. Participate in the upkeep and cleaning of camp and units daily. Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and creative. Other duties as assigned.
