About The Position

The role of a beach attendant is to provide equipment such as chairs and umbrellas to hotel guest for them to enjoy while on the beach. This role is responsible for ensuring the beach is prepped and ready for you to escort the guests to their preferred area.

Requirements

Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English is preferred
Some experience in customer service is strongly preferred
CPR certification (can obtain after employment)
Detail oriented and thorough
Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way
Ability to assist guests courteously and efficiently
Ability to retain and enforce safety procedures
Must be able to lift/carry 50 LBS
Must be able to work in the sun/heat for long periods of time
Must be able to navigate through sand while carrying heavy objects
Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, throughout the shift
Predominantly outdoors, exposed to direct sunlight and extreme heat
Working on uneven surfaces, such as sand
Exposure to changing and unexpected weather conditions, such as wind and rain
Occasional interaction with large groups of guests

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a friendly helpful manner
Load and transport beach equipment and towels prior to each shift
Assist in the setup of tables, chairs, tents, and umbrellas
Properly store equipment when not in use
Lead guests to beach setup and assist with any requests they may have
Assist guest with related questions and concerns
Assist guest with minor emergencies and first aid
Respond appropriately to major emergencies requiring a lifeguard or a calling 911 emergency services
Monitor and maintain appearance of beach
Keep work area tidy and organized
Collect all beach equipment and soiled towels at the end of shift
Follow company policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned
