About The Position

The Athletic Specialist & Cabin Counselor position is responsible for the planning, implementing and leading various athletic programs for campers in large and small group settings. Athletic Specialists leads and lives with a cabin of up to 7 campers. Athletic activities include, but are not limited to: Archery, Basketball, Baseball, Gaga, Land sports, Court Sports, Tennis, Volleyball, Yoga, and Mountain Biking. The Athletic Specialist/Cabin Counselor role is a safety sensitive position. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to lead and instruct a group of campers in sports program.
Have knowledge in safety, care of equipment, inventory, skill instruction, and progressive age-appropriate programming.
Must be able to identify age and grade level characteristics of campers.

Nice To Haves

Previous camp experience or experience working with groups of children is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction, supervision and safety of all campers in program area and cabins.
Create, plan and implement age-appropriate athletic lesson plans.
Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available.
Assist campers with achieving their goals.
Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to; camper check-in and check-out; mealtimes; activities; and before/after-hours duties as assigned.
Attend and participate in All Staff Training.
