Regulatory and technical work monitoring beach use for compliance with regulations governing the Sandy Neck Barrier Beach including site specific rules, applicable town ordinances, and state and federal laws. Provide detailed information about environmental processes and resource management at Sandy Neck. Assist Marine and Environmental Affairs Division with functions at other locations within the town, other duties as necessary. Examples of duties/responsibilities: Employee's primary responsibility entails upholding compliance with regulations established to protect the environmental integrity of the Sandy Neck Barrier Beach. Duties require constant contact and interaction with members of the public requiring patience, excellent communication skills, and tact. Informs the public about science and management concepts in order to provide context for enforcement of regulations and any necessary restrictions on visitor activities. Represents and promotes the interests, goals, and policies of the Town of Barnstable and Sandy Neck when dealing with the public.
