About The Position

SEASONAL OPEN SPACE MAINTENANCE WORKER HIRING RANGE: $17.50 PER HOUR About the Position: Working in our Open Space Program is really about the general maintenance and restoration of natural spaces along the Riverfront Trail, the Kindred Reserve, spaces in the Ridges, and other trails near the base of the Colorado National Monument. Work will be in trail maintenance and construction, revegetation projects, and invasive plant management. Requirements

• Must be 18+ years or older.
• Applicants must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, background check, and, if required for the specific position, a physical examination.
• Ability to maintain a great work ethic while working outside all day.
• Ambition and a desire to learn.
• Passion for outdoor recreation.
• Effective communication and active listening skills.
• Proclivity for processes and procedures.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be able to work early mornings.
• Applicants should be able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and restore natural spaces along the Riverfront Trail, the Kindred Reserve, spaces in the Ridges, and other trails near the base of the Colorado National Monument.
• Work on trail maintenance and construction, revegetation projects, and invasive plant management.
• Operation of mowers, string trimmers, gators, and tool cat with various implements
• Mixing, handling, and application of pesticide and herbicide chemical products.
• Maintaining organized and detailed records.
• Assistance with the greater needs of Parks and Recreation, as needed.
