Join the team at SEA LIFE Orlando and play a key leadership role in delivering engaging, mission-driven experiences that inspire guests to love and protect our oceans. 🐠 About this Role The SEA LIFE Education Lead plays a key leadership role in delivering engaging, high-quality educational experiences that support the attraction’s conservation, animal welfare, and guest engagement goals. This position combines hands-on program delivery with team leadership, ensuring education initiatives are impactful, accurate, and aligned with professional standards. The Education Lead serves as both an educator and people leader, supporting daily operations while coaching and developing team members in a dynamic, guest-facing environment.

Requirements

  • Experience working at an Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) member institution or another SEA LIFE aquarium
  • Previous experience in a zoo, aquarium, museum, or nature center environment
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a lead, trainer, or mentor
  • Strong public speaking and guest engagement skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
  • Passion for conservation, education, and guest experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating lesson plans, teaching guides, or workshop materials
  • Background in informal education or interpretive programming
  • Experience working with diverse audiences and age groups
  • Multilingual abilities
  • Experience with program evaluation or reporting

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of educational programs, presentations, and guest interactions
  • Deliver engaging, accurate, and inclusive presentations to diverse audiences
  • Ensure all education experiences align with SEA LIFE’s mission, conservation priorities, and institutional messaging
  • Collaborate with Animal Care, Guest Experience, and Marketing teams to maintain consistent storytelling and guest impact
  • Supervise, schedule, train, and mentor education team members
  • Serve as a coach and role model for effective guest engagement and professional conduct
  • Provide ongoing feedback, performance support, and development guidance
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of lesson plans, teaching materials, and interpretive content
  • Ensure educational content is scientifically accurate, inclusive, and aligned with best practices
  • Incorporate conservation messaging and behavior-change strategies into guest interactions
  • Maintain accurate program records, reporting, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational procedures
  • Stay current on trends in informal education and conservation engagement
  • Participate in cross-departmental initiatives and organizational projects
  • Serve as Supervisor on Duty (SOD), as required
