As our SE MN Preserve Management Technicians (PMT,) you will work throughout the driftless region of southeast Minnesota. We are hiring two PMTs to serve on a 4-person crew that will participate in stewardship activities on both public and private lands and work closely with other non-profits and state and federal government employees. Tasks include prescribed burn preparation, fire implementation and post fire monitoring, removal and chemical treatment of invasive species, tool and equipment maintenance, and monitoring and data collection. Other activities may include plant and animal surveys, native seed harvest, tree and shrub planting, and preserve maintenance duties such as boundary posting. This position is benefits eligible and expected to end November 30, 2027. You will work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and uneven terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances. This position requires considerable physical exertion and/or muscular strain. The position will be based out of our Weaver Dunes Preserve near Kellogg, MN. Housing is not required as part of the position but is provided. The value will be included as taxable income vs. paid rent.
