About The Position

The Secure Third Party Tools (S3T) engineering team develops and maintains
advanced security solutions to protect Amazon customers' data. We build
technologies for third party security standards to review, monitor, and
remediate vulnerabilities. Our mission is to raise security standards, ensuring
the highest level of data protection.
S3T Engineering serves AWS and Stores by building solutions to keep Amazon
systems and data secure. We use the latest technology, including GenAI to solve
security problems. We employ automation and machine learning to reduce, or
eliminate, manual effort to help our internal customers raise the security bar.
We have bold goals to accelerate security automation to keep pace and protect
customers at scale.

Successful candidates for this position must have experience in delivering
results through their teams, hiring and developing tech and science leaders.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Nice To Haves

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Responsibilities

• You will own the roadmap and architecture for your products.
• You will work closely with your customers, partner teams, and core platform engineering teams to ensure the needs of your customers are clearly understood and effectively addressed.
• You will collaborate with the senior leadership team to drive key engineering and data science priorities aligning to Security and businesses to achieve the right outcomes.
• Since our systems are foundational to the Amazon ecosystem, various businesses across Amazon depend on our solutions.
