About The Position

EmpiRx Health [https://www.empirxhealth.com/] is the leading clinically-driven pharmacy benefits management company. As the pioneer in value-based pharmacy care, EmpiRx Health puts its customers and members first by enabling them to take control of their pharmacy benefits, healthcare outcomes, and financial results. We place more emphasis on member care than any other PBM by focusing on health outcomes first. Our pharmacists and clinicians are at the center of everything we do―and our population health solution delivers tailored strategies for our clients. Leveraging our newly launched, AI-powered pharmacy care platform, Clinically [https://clinically.co/]™, EmpiRx Health’s pharmacists and client experience teams provide the highest quality pharmacy care to our clients and their members. This enables benefits plan sponsors to keep their members healthy, happy, and productive, while substantially reducing prescription drug spending, which has been on an explosive growth trajectory in recent years. EmpiRx Health is in unprecedented growth, and we are seeking a highly effective Scrum Master who is passionate about delivering outcomes and value, not agile theory. This role is deeply embedded in our engineering teams and is responsible for enabling predictable, transparent, and value-driven delivery using Azure DevOps (ADO) as the central workflow and reporting platform. The ideal candidate possesses a proactive approach, problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of accelerating software delivery. They possess a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, software development practices and are adept at identifying and eliminating obstacles that hinder team productivity. Furthermore, they excel at optimizing workflows and driving tangible outcomes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years working as a Scrum Master in a software engineering environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps boards, dashboards, queries, analytics views, and project structures.
  • Proven track record of improving delivery performance in real teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate, influence, and coach without authority.
  • Strong understanding of Agile practices (Scrum / Kanban) with the ability to apply them pragmatically.
  • Excellent communication, clarity, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multi-team programs or scaling patterns.
  • Working knowledge of feature workflows, branching strategies, and DevOps pipelines (conceptual level).
  • Experience contributing to Agile transformations or organizational change initiatives.
  • Certifications are optional: practical experience is valued more than theory.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that teams consistently deliver value within two-week sprints (or Kanban flow, where applicable).
  • Facilitate daily progress tracking and promptly identify and resolve blockers.
  • Assist teams in forecasting, planning, and executing work with precision and accountability.
  • Promote flow metrics such as cycle time, lead time, velocity, and WIP limits to enhance performance.
  • Collaborate regularly with functional managers to ensure shared understanding, alignment, and execution of Product and leadership initiatives.
  • Own the team’s ADO hygiene and workflow practices:
  • Ensure backlog clarity and readiness, working with the Product Owner.
  • Facilitate sprint planning helping the team set goals each sprint on the value they plan to deliver.
  • Board configuration and WIP visibility
  • Keep the team’s dashboard update to communicate goals and progress.
  • Ensure that every team’s work is visible, actionable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Guide teams in utilizing dashboards, queries, analytics views, widgets, and sprint reviews to increase transparency and learning.
  • Lead sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews (with Product Owner), and retrospectives with a focus on outcomes, not rituals.
  • Drive retrospectives that produce measurable improvements, not generic action items.
  • Coach Product Owners and teams to improve backlog quality and goal clarity.
  • Help teams adopt consistent sprint cadences, review structures, and goal-setting practices that tie directly to value delivery.
  • Identify delivery bottlenecks and implement practical solutions (process, communication, tooling).
  • Establish team norms aligned with enterprise-level agile standards and templates.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Leaders to ensure consistency across teams.
  • Provide mentorship to newer teams or teams with limited Agile experience, emphasizing practical application and the effectiveness of Agile methodologies in enhancing delivery rather than theoretical concepts.
  • Help scale patterns that create transparency, accountability, and flow.
  • Ensure all sprint reviews follow the standardized structure, cadence, and publishing of assets.
  • Build trust with leadership by providing concise reporting on progress, risks, capacity, and delivery velocity.
  • Ensure that teams are consistently visible, eliminating the notion that their activities are unknown.
