About The Position

This position will be responsible for a team's collaboration, transparency and delivering product releases meeting all quality standards and milestones. The Senior Scrum Master identifies and procures all necessary resources to meet project specifications, facilitates sprint planning meetings and daily stand up meetings, and provides burn-down and other weekly reports. This role is crucial for defining Customer Journeys and delivering exceptional, streamlined experiences. The ideal candidate is a pioneer who enjoys data-driven decisions, incorporates customer feedback, and applies creativity to define solutions. Responsibilities include guiding teams to a culture of focus, improving work organization through sprint planning and reviews, and serving as an Agile consultant to plan and coordinate new workflows. The Senior Scrum Master will also identify and resolve dependencies between Agile teams, participate in Scrum of Scrums, monitor team progress, form cross-departmental partnerships, complete weekly status reports, escalate Agile implementation issues, and teach concepts like task definition, velocity, and burndown metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of 7 years of Agile or Project Management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Level one Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I)
  • 5 years of experience working as a Scrum Master role on a software development team as part of an Agile team applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a team's collaboration, transparency and delivering product releases meeting all quality standards and milestones
  • Identifies and procures all necessary resources to meet project specifications
  • Facilitates sprint planning meetings and daily stand up meetings
  • Provides burn-down and other weekly reports
  • Guide teams to a culture of focus, improving the organization of their work through sprint planning and reviews throughout a project life cycle
  • Guide departments and teams towards cross-functional orientation by serving as an Agile consultant, helping plan and coordinate new workflows and patterns and scheduling of task assignments and goals
  • Identify dependencies between Agile teams and help communicate and resolve dependencies between different teams
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrums forum within the Agile Release Train to communicate Agile teams progress, dependencies and impediments
  • Continually monitor the progress of team members across department boundaries and provide support to engage employees to achieve goals
  • Form partnerships across departments to streamline work processes and improve the speed at which the company can respond to and capitalize on opportunities
  • Complete weekly status reports and present to upper management
  • Escalate issues in the implementation of Agile methodologies to expedite process correction, creating strategies that resonate with the culture of the organization
  • Teach the concepts of task definition, velocity and burndown metrics to all staff
