About The Position

Within CACI's Military Health portfolio, the successful candidate will serve as the team’s Agile Scrum Master while also acting as a Deputy Project Manager to keep delivery, planning, and customer coordination aligned. Help drive predictable outcomes by improving sprint execution, removing blockers, and strengthening cross-team communication. Partner with the Project Manager to translate goals into actionable plans, track progress, and surface risks early. Foster a healthy, high-trust team environment that emphasizes transparency, continuous improvement, and sustainable pace. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master on software or technical teams, with demonstrated delivery outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum and/or Kanban) and how to apply them pragmatically.
  • Experience using Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence (or equivalent) to manage backlogs, boards, and reporting.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to keep meetings focused, productive, and psychologically safe.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting project management activities such as schedule tracking, risk/issue management, and status reporting.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain organization, and drive action items to completion.

Nice To Haves

  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II) and/or Agile coaching experience.
  • Experience in a hybrid Agile environment (Agile delivery within broader program constraints, milestones, or compliance needs).
  • Experience supporting government, regulated, or high-assurance environments (documentation, audits, security considerations).
  • Comfort presenting to leadership and customers, including facilitating roadmap or release readiness discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily standups, refinement, reviews, retrospectives) and ensure they remain effective and time-boxed.
  • Coach the team on Agile principles and help reinforce working agreements, Definition of Ready, and Definition of Done.
  • Own sprint execution support: identify impediments, drive action to remove blockers, and coordinate dependencies across teams.
  • Maintain and improve team metrics (velocity trends, burn down/up, flow/throughput, cycle time) and help the team use data to improve.
  • Partner with the Product Owner to ensure the backlog is healthy, prioritized, and refined for upcoming work.
  • Support the Project Manager with schedule inputs, milestone tracking, action items, and follow-through on commitments.
  • Prepare and deliver status reporting (progress, risks, issues, dependencies, upcoming objectives) to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Lead risk/issue management activities: log, analyze, escalate when needed, and track mitigation plans to closure.
  • Coordinate with engineering, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders to ensure readiness for releases and operational support.
  • Promote continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and driving practical process changes that stick.
