About The Position

Seeking a Scrum Master to support a California Department of Public Health (CDPH) health IT initiative. This RFP-contingent role will lead Agile delivery for health data systems, facilitating Scrum ceremonies and guiding teams through full SDLC execution. Anticipated start date is June 2026, pending award. WORKSITE: Remote within the United States (may require limited California business hours support). WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, Monday–Friday, business hours aligned to Pacific Time. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading IT development through all SDLC phases.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master for system development or maintenance.
  • 1–3 years of experience supporting a health data system or health information exchange.
  • Current Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and/or PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • NACES credential evaluation required for degrees not issued in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT development activities through all phases of the SDLC.
  • Serve as Scrum Master for Agile teams supporting system development and maintenance.
  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Remove impediments and coach teams on Agile and Scrum best practices.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to manage and prioritize backlogs.
  • Support delivery of health data systems or health information exchange platforms.
  • Provide status reporting, risk tracking, and delivery metrics to leadership.
