About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Physician with scribing reports and basic Medical Assistant (MA) duties. The role involves documenting patient encounters in real-time, transcribing medical notes, and performing various administrative and clinical support tasks.

Requirements

High School Diploma required.
Proficiency in medical terminology and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new terminology.
Basic computer skills required.
Good working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Knowledge of first aid and CPR.
Knowledge of safety and sanitation.
Knowledge of compliance regulations set by state, federal and local law.
Understanding of EPM/EHR system.
Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
Skill in analyzing, planning, organization, and prioritization.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships.
Skill in verbal and written communication.
Ability to read and interpret medical documents.
Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
Ability to interact easily and effectively with others.
Ability to share expertise and knowledge with staff to maintain and improve workflow.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients and/or co-workers.

Nice To Haves

Experience in an Orthopaedic Practice preferred.

Responsibilities

Attend appointments alongside provider to document patient encounters real-time.
Transcribe dictated notes and medical jargon into clear and concise written reports.
Room patients.
Remove staples/sutures.
Complete Meaningful Use.
Answer patient phone calls.
Prepare Injections.
Communicate with your Physician and team.
Stock/clean exam rooms.
Prepare for clinic.
Maintain confidentiality.
Follow the chain of commands.
Prioritize tasks by level of importance to meet deadlines.
Complete tasks in a timely manner.
