Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

Ensures all plant employees conduct operations in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensures all plant areas meet safety requirements.
Operates equipment such as Overhead Crane, Scrap Handler, Forklift, Yard Dog, Track Mobile, Baler machine and any other equipment as needed.
Monitors overall performance of receiving, inspection, and shipping functions.
Monitors and controls inventory, storage layout and design.
Participates and provides leadership for preventative actions to reduce and/or eliminate waste and quality problems for stored product.
Assists in establishing and maintaining work instructions, process procedures and standards for plant functions.
Participates and provides leadership for the continuous improvement program (kaizen).
Assists in developing self-sufficient preventative maintenance program.
Assists in implementation and monitoring of GMI environmental matters.
Prepares and presents various reports as requested by management.
Promotes goodwill of company at all times.
Assists with interviewing for plant positions.
Makes recommendations to Manager for training needs, performance reviews and any potential disciplinary actions involving team members.
