About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team as the Lead Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Engineer for the Resilient Missile Warning and Missile Tracking (RMWT) MBSE team, Ground Based Radar or Cobra Dane Pursuits. The successful applicant will lead the MBSE efforts within the Platform Systems Engineering Integration Test (SEIT) Integrated Product Team (IPT), supporting the GMI program throughout its development and test phases for the new satellite ground operations center or support multiple large new business pursuits. In this position, you will bring your MBSE systems engineering expertise to a system engineering lead role where you can make a broad impact on programs and pursuits that are critical to our customers!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience leading MBSE efforts on complex engineering programs, preferably in space systems, defense, or aerospace sectors.
  • Experience using MBSE tools such as Cameo NoMagic or Magic Draw, or similar.
  • Experience modeling in SysML, SysML V2 and other relevant modeling languages.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and engaging with various stakeholders as chief systems engineer, chief engineer, product owner, product manager, or integrated product team leader.
  • Experience using Agile development frameworks like Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Experience generating requirements at various levels of the system and flowing down requirements to sub-systems/sub-components.
  • Experience working on aerospace/defense electronic systems (e.g. electronic warfare systems, radar, missile guidance, missile defense).
  • Experience working with large ground-based RF/SATCOM or RADAR systems.
  • Active TS/SCI to start.

  • Experience developing satellite ground operations centers and related systems.
  • Experience communicating and presenting and prior experience working collaboratively in a team environment with government customers and other contractors.
  • Experience working with UEWR & PARCS RADAR systems.
  • Experience overseeing software development and hardware/software integration.

  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills demonstrated by related work experience.
  • Strong coordination and organization skills with a focus on details.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team in developing, integrating, and maintaining the engineering model for the Resilient Missile Warning and Missile Tracking (RMMWT), Ground Based RADAR, & Cobra Dane RADAR systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an Agile framework to design, develop, and deliver an integrated system model that supports the installation, delivery, and operational readiness.
  • Oversee and manage MBSE activities in support of government reference architecture (GRA) through various program milestones, ensuring the engineering model aligns with project objectives and timelines.
  • Guide the development of MBSE processes, standards, and tools to facilitate the efficient realization of program goals.
  • Provide expert-level MBSE technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members and create a program employee MBSE onboarding plan.
  • Coordinate with engineering, project management, and customer stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and alignment of requirements.
  • Support the verification and validation activities utilizing the MBSE to ensure system performance meets specified requirements.
  • Ensure that industry and L3Harris MBSE methodologies are effectively implemented and integrated into the program lifecycle processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies related to MBSE deliverables and project milestones.
  • Participate in program reviews, technical working groups, and other forums to communicate insights, progress, and status of MBSE efforts.
