The Role: The Data and AI segment within Coras is an emerging and rapidly growing area. Our focus areas are Software & AI, MBSE & Digital Engineering, and Simulation & Modelling. As foundational employees within the segment, you will not only have interesting client facing opportunities, but you will also have the ability to shape and influence the growth and development of the segment, gaining skills, experience and expertise along the way! We have perm anent, full-time opportunit ies for Model-Based Systems Engineers to join this emerging segment . You will work alongside clients to help define, analyse and integrate complex Defence systems, applying model-based approaches to solve real capability and operational challenges spanning requirements engineering, configuration management, and model-based systems design.

Requirements

  • Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance. Ideally you will already hold an NV1 or greater clearance.
  • Systems engineering experience (requirements, architecture, integration) within the defence environment
  • Understanding of model-based systems engineering concepts
  • Experience in architecture frameworks such as DoDAF, MoDAF, UAF, NAF
  • An understanding of the difference between Mission Engineering and MBSE
  • Proficiency with one or more MBSE or digital engineering tools such as: Cameo Systems Modeler, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Vitech Core/Genesys, Or other similar tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to varied audiences
  • Defence capability development or architecture experience
  • Experience working on multi-system or integrated Defence programs
  • Defence domain engineering experience in c apability development or delivery
  • Applicable requirements management experience
  • An understandin g of or exposure to architecture frameworks such as DoDAF, MoDAF, UAF, NAF , and how to employ them
  • Alternatively, may have o ther relevant experience such as Enterprise Architecture, Archimate TOGAF or other similar modelling meth ods that provide transferrable experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to varied audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Maritime domain experience would be a benefit.

Responsibilities

  • Applying model-based systems engineering to translate capability needs into integrated solutions
  • Developing and maintain system models that describe how systems, people and processes work together
  • Defining architectures, interfaces and specifications across complex environments
  • Supporting option analysis, trade studies and evidence-based decision-making
  • Engaging with Defence stakeholders to ensure solutions are operationally grounded and practical
