About The Position

Superluminal Medicines, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Scientist/Sr Scientist with small molecule drug discovery experience to join our growing Biology team. The Company’s platform aims to develop candidate-ready compounds with unprecedented speed using a combination of deep biology, computational and medicinal chemistry, machine learning, and proprietary big data infrastructure. This role will directly contribute to early drug discovery programs and offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with and be an integral part of a highly dynamic and interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate is a creative self-starter who is highly proficient in cell biology, assay development and screening techniques and looking to grow their career with an exceptional team.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline with 1-5 years of experience in industry
  • Hands-on experience in cell biology techniques including mammalian tissue culture, cell line generation and maintenance required
  • Hands-on experience in plate-based assay technologies including HTRF, luminescence, BRET, Alpha, flow cytometry; experience in high content imaging a plus
  • Highly proficient in assay development and optimization for compound screening, target engagement and mechanism of action studies
  • Experience with laboratory automation and semi-automated assay workflows highly desirable (bulk reagent dispensers, Echo, Tecan D300e, Bravo)
  • High-level understanding of early drug discovery processes
  • Highly motivated and innovative with a can-do attitude and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • Background and experience in GPCR biology highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, develop and execute robust screening assays to drive drug discovery programs
  • Develop a deep understanding of target biology and creatively formulate and execute screening for hit finding, validation, optimization and pharmacology profiling
  • Lead from the bench to explore and implement new assay platforms and technologies and stay current with state-of-the-art GPCR research
  • Critically interpret data and effectively communicate results to interdisciplinary teams including medicinal chemists, computational biologists, and machine learning scientists in both informal and formal meetings
  • Ensure compliance with company established practices and procedures including both wet and digital lab
