Join our team. #CloroxIsThePlace Your role at Clorox: The Clorox Wipes business has a goal to be the easiest way to clean everyday messes. The package is an essential vehicle to communicate and deliver delight and drive loyalty. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on our suite of Wipes Products looking to build out the innovation pipeline for the next 3-5 years. This includes enabling our aggressive goals to continue growing in the Ecomm space. The Wipes R&D team is seeking a consumer obsessed packaging development expert to join our agile group of scientists. In this role, you will bring new ideas and innovation to our products, while continuing to deliver executional excellence and build technical rigor capability. We are looking for a technical expert at the Scientist 2 level to join our dedicated group to advance our desire to drive category growth via new benefits and cleaning occasions. This position will be located in our Pleasanton, CA office, and the individual will be expected to be in the office of 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • Minimum: 3+ years as a product or packaging developer in consumer product goods companies or applicable field
  • Strong internal motivation, robust planning of technical and cross functional teams, critical thinking, problem solving under unique constraints, able to work independently, able to work with and through others
  • Bachelors or Masters in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering or time in applicable role(s) after college

Responsibilities

  • Packaging development for Scentiva and Wipes
  • Package development lead for projects to ensure technical rigor and deliver against project deliverables (secondary packaging, blow molding, injection molding components)
  • Design and execute technical testing to converge on and validate pkg design and performance. Including developing new test methods with support when necessary
  • Use established Clorox processes to deliver projects and identifies potential improvements
  • Build capability on ecomm and modelling to further our aggressive growth plans
  • Create consumer and customer facing specifications and processing standards
  • Lead risk assessment and mitigation plan
  • Apply fundamental technical and packaging knowledge to deliver new packaging solutions
  • Establish and grow relationship with external manufacturing and technology partners and internal experts
  • Develop and lead packaging testing and validation, internally and externally, upholding a strong technical foundation and right rigor/right time mentality
  • Develop and lead manufacturing implementation of innovations
  • Represent one R&D voice balancing risk, impact, speed, and decision-making complexity
  • Demonstrate a mentality of constant improvement and willingness to challenge past ways of working to drive efficiency in your work and presenting means of improving the work of the broader technical team
  • Establish and maintain strong technical organization through knowledge management and documentation
  • Learn and develop new demos to showcase our products
  • Contribute to a robust intellectual property portfolio and strategy
  • Further build ecomm testing and risk assessment protocol
