The Position As a Scientist II in the Oligo Manufacturing Group, you will be manufacturing oligonucleotides on DNA synthesizers so we can ensure the consistent, high-quality production required to meet the increasing demand for oligonucleotides in our R&D pipelines The Opportunity Manufacturing oligonucleotides on DNA Synthesizers using established procedures and technical understanding, including gel purification and ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely results while maintaining lab supplies and instruments. Coordinating with the oligo purification group for smooth handoffs, processing incoming oligo orders, interfacing with vendors, and prioritizing orders for in-house manufacturing or external vendors as required. Preparing experimental results, reviewing conclusions with supervisors/project leads, and keeping them informed about project status, significant findings, and critical issues. Following internal safety guidelines and external regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA) while participating in lab maintenance, lab safety, and ISO/QSR implementation. Setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting oligo synthesis instruments while prioritizing, scheduling, and batching oligo syntheses for efficient, timely, and cost-effective production, including handling RUSH or repeat orders. Assisting with routine analyses (HPLC, LCMS, UV spectral) on oligos, maintaining laboratory/reagent supplies to avoid manufacturing downtime, and supporting others in the manufacturing lab as needed. Ensuring thorough and timely documentation of synthesis records, oligo orders, and lab data in notebooks and electronic systems, preparing data for analyses, reports, or presentations. Who You Are You have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological/Life Sciences, or related field, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience, A Master's and 4-5 years of experience in oligonucleotide manufacturing is preferred Equivalent combination of education and work experience Relocation Benefits are not offered for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on California is 66,900 - 109 825 USD Annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
