We are looking to fill a Scientist 1 - Solution Prep and Lab Support - Large Molecule position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. This Parexel position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This role does not offer sponsorship. Description: We are seeking a motivated candidate who can support the laboratory areas for our solution preparation team. The position will provide an opportunity for learning and development in a professional lab setting, contributing to development and commercialization of life-saving therapeutics. The primary responsibility for this position will be the support of the solutions prep team.

Requirements

  • Scientist 1 - B.S. with 0 - 1 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting
  • Energy and enthusiasm for lab work; attention to detail
  • Highly organized with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Discipline for maintaining the lab; promptness with addressing problems
  • Ability and willingness to learn new lab techniques, adhere to all safety guidelines, and pick up/move up 25lbs.
  • Perform duties with high safety and quality standards.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word, Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work in teams and collaborate with external partners
  • Strong communication skills and a good team player.

Responsibilities

  • Completes routine laboratory procedures of preparing various mammalian cell culture media and purification buffers following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
  • Participate and closely work with process development scientists to develop and/or improve hydration procedures for complex cell culture media.
  • Report results and maintains records utilizing electronic laboratory notebook (ELN).
  • Routine maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Calibrate balances and pH meters as needed.
  • Track and document chemicals/media usage and inventory.
  • Employs good housekeeping and maintains clean room to prevent contamination and integrity of production.
