We are looking to fill a Scientist position working as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. Description The Enabling Technology department of one of our clients in Rahway, NJ is seeking a highly motivated scientist who is looking for an opportunity to work with chemists and engineers to execute experiments related to biocatalyst screening, immobilization of enzymes for use in biocatalytic synthesis, and/or evaluation of novel methods for implementing enzymes in chemical reactions.

Requirements

  • Work in the lab with a variety of chemicals, use an array of analytical instruments, write clear and concise reports, and integrate into the existing work and culture
  • Familiarity with common chemicals/solvents, laboratory practices/equipment and general lab safety practices
  • Knowledge of basic organic chemistry or biochemistry
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, writing, and time management skills allowing for accurate work in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to strictly follow established procedures, policies, and guidelines required to comply with safety, environmental and GMP expectations in the lab
  • The ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and as part of one or more interdisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with MS Office products

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with biocatalysis, organic synthesis, or reaction engineering and associated analytical and characterization methods (HPLC/UPLC, MS, or GC)
  • Familiarity with high throughput experimentation or catalyst screening
  • Familiarity with Metter Toledo EasyMax and related process analytical tools for reaction monitoring
  • Mechanical aptitude, with hands on experience working with or troubleshooting mechanical and/or electronic equipment
  • Experience with biophysical protein characterization, protein purification, or chromatography to study protein-ligand interactions
