About The Position

As a member of the Research and Development team, you will have the opportunity to play a key, hands on role in performing scientific experiments that lead to the next generation of CAR-T cell therapies. You will be responsible for human immune cell isolation and culture, tumor cell line culture and maintenance, carrying out advanced methods of T cell activity analysis, and using gene transfer techniques including lentiviral gene vector design and use and LNP-based gene delivery. These research and therapeutic T cell development pathways utilize new and innovative technologies developed in-house, such as flow cytometry, advanced imaging, and automated cell processing in static and active cultures. The incumbent will have the opportunity to interact with a highly diverse and collaborative team of scientists focused on research and development of novel cell and gene therapies, to contribute to scientific publications, development of clinic-ready and commercial cell therapy products, and to grow professionally.

Requirements

  • PhD or MD, preferably with a postdoctoral training and strong expertise in immunology, gene vector biology, cell isolation and expansion techniques.
  • Cell culture and flow cytometry experience.
  • Expertise in T cell functional assays.
  • Familiarity with DNA sequence databases, flow cytometry software, statistical software packages for data analysis and presentation.
  • You are creative, goal-oriented and able to work both in independent and multidisciplinary situations. In addition, you welcome new challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven track record in preparing scientific data for presentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in lentiviral gene vectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Culture and maintenance of primary human immune cells, leukemia and lymphoma cell lines, and cancer cell lines.
  • Employ state of the art immune cell functional assays including flow cytometry, cytolytic and cytokine secretion analysis, metabolic assays, cell avidity measurement, and gene expression analysis.
  • Perform both small-scale and large-scale CAR-T cell expansion.
  • Employ novel gene vector and LNP-based gene modification. Experience in lentiviral gene vectors is a plus.
  • Work independently and in in a team environment, effectively communicating results featuring precise data analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
