About The Position

We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Computational Biology Scientist to join our R&D team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining robust computational systems that integrate diverse biological data, driving insights from early discovery through IND-enabling studies. You will serve as a critical interface between our computational and experimental teams, applying your bioinformatics engineering skills to develop and optimize pipelines that directly support our therapeutic programs.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics with a strong biological focus, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • 0-2 years of industry experience in computational biology post-Ph.D.
  • Good understanding of gene editing principles and the computational analysis of gene editing experiments, including indel analysis, off-target assessment, and advanced editing modalities.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD.
  • Experience with workflow management systems (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake) for building and deploying end-to-end analysis pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS) for scalable data processing and infrastructure management.
  • Experience in machine learning algorithm development and implementation for biological applications.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic development principles.
  • Ability to translate complex biological questions into actionable computational approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Perform computational analysis of on-target editing, off-target activities, target identification, and biomarker discovery.
  • Design, develop, and productionize scalable bioinformatics pipelines to analyze diverse NGS data types (e.g., amplicon sequencing, RNA-seq, long-read sequencing), implementing best practices for version control and CI/CD.
  • Collaborate closely with lab automation, target screening, and therapeutic development teams on experimental design, data interpretation, and the generation of new scientific hypotheses.
  • Summarize complex experimental results and computational insights in various formats, including presentations, scientific publications, and patent filings, to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development of novel algorithms or methodologies to address computational challenges and accelerate program progression.
