Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is hiring for a Scientist Associate II (Geologist) in Richland, WA. This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD). Navarro-ATL is seeking a licensed Geologist to provide expert support for vadose zone projects on the Hanford site. The primary responsibilities include conducting descriptive sedimentology of vadose zone sediment cores and performing particle size analyses. This position will work within the Research and Technology Development (R&TD) Organization, contributing to non-routine studies and activities. The successful candidate will collaborate with union-represented personnel, chemists, engineers, and members of the public. The ability to qualify as a radiological worker is required. Under general supervision: Assume technical responsibility for vadose program. Function as the technical authority for assigned methods, procedures, and study areas, including person-in-charge functions and configuration control authority. Synthesize sedimentologic and particle size analyses into a coherent report. Contribute to mineralogical analyses of Hanford tank farm samples as part of the team. Provide direction, oversight, and training to Chemical Operate under strict deadlines to plan, organize, and manage activities in assigned areas to meet Laboratory and client schedules. Demonstrate diplomacy in working with others (subordinates, peers, higher management levels) to obtain desired results. Interface with groups within and outside the 222-S Laboratory. Other duties as assigned.
