About The Position

BioNTech is developing novel Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs) and other targeted therapeutics for the targeted treatment of cancer with the goal of maximizing efficacy and minimizing toxic effects to patients. To achieve this goal ADCs and/or degraders will be prepared, evaluated in a battery of in vitro and in vivo assays, then based on results, improved therapeutics will be developed. As a Chemistry Scientist in Global ADC Innovation Unit, you will help design and synthesize the payloads, linkers, and linker-payloads required to generate next generation ADCs. You may also be involved in the conjugation step, attaching linker-payloads to various antibodies. You will work closely with team members who have diverse backgrounds in Biology, Pharmacology and other disciplines. You will also prepare presentations for the team, and possibly for upper management, including progress updates and proposals for linker-payload improvements.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry, with 3+ years of industry experience developing ADC payloads, ADC linkers, and ADCs.
  • Hands-on experience preparing complex organic molecules and using HPLC, LC-MS and NMR for purification/analysis
  • Proven track record of creative thinking and consistent delivery as demonstrated by publications and presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills
  • Must be able to work on site in our synthetic laboratory
