The Medical Affairs Division of J&J Innovative Medicine provides practical, industry-specific scientific and analytical experience. Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for an Immunology Medical Affairs Scientific Communications (Sci Comms) intern located in Horsham, PA. This position will be part of the Medical Communications and Scientific Exchange (MCSE) group within Immunology Medical Affairs.

The Scientific Communications (Sci Comms) Intern will support Scientific Communications Lead (SCL) and working closely with the medical writers and key stakeholders, Therapy Area (TA) Lead, Medical Directors, and potentially Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team.

Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (e.g., Biochemistry/Biology/Chemistry)
• Completed two or three years of college coursework
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0
• Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work individually (independently) as well as on a team
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel (with a high proficiency with generating tables and graphs), and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

• Technical competencies in SharePoint and other information technology systems
• Experience with PubMed and other literature databases
• Academic and/or industrial clinical trial experience
• Participation in campus/community service activities

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with US MAF Sci Comms on ongoing projects (abstracts, posters, specifically in the encore space).
• Upkeep of project trackers and folders
• Assist with medical writing needs (data verification steps, QC of posters or infographics)
• Help reshape US MAF publication plans (better visuals, better placement of info on PPT slides)
• Participate in ongoing team meetings
• Be exposed to various functions within the larger MCSE team
• Potential to have internship continue past summer if writing project continues on
