About The Position

The Scientific Communications & Medical Information Intern will be supporting and completing projects pertaining to Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications and Medical Information. The intern will have the opportunity to speak with and learn from various industry professionals regarding their occupation and role within the company to better understand the different facets of the pharmaceutical industry. The position will support the development of Medical Content for use by Medical Affairs, including field medical team and Medical Information (standard response letters, PowerPoint presentations, frequently asked questions, clinical trial recruitment materials). In addition, the intern will assist in the development of responses for unsolicited Medical Information requests from Healthcare Providers, patients and care givers. This role is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional pharmaceutical environment, offering exposure to cross-functional collaboration, business processes, and industry best practices. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Graduate program (preferably 3 rd of 4 th year PharmD program).
  • Interest in learning about a pharmacist’s role in biopharmaceutical industry and considering an industry fellowship or a career in biopharmaceutical industry after graduation.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word , Outlook)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment.
  • The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication both in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedule or business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of Medical Content for use by Medical Affairs, including field medical team and Medical Information (standard response letters, PowerPoint presentations, frequently asked questions, clinical trial recruitment materials)
  • Support development of responses for unsolicited Medical Information requests from Healthcare Providers, patients and care givers.
  • Communicate clearly, accurately, and confidently with other healthcare professionals and staff using appropriate listening, verbal, nonverbal, and written communication.
  • Understand how to retrieve, analyze, and interpret the professional, lay, and scientific literature to conduct a thorough emerging literature search for several disease states, utilizing multiple databases
  • Participate in the medical review process
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and strategic discussions to gain exposure to business operations and contribute insights where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and alignment with company values in all interactions.
  • Completes final presentation summarizing internship contributions and key learnings.
