About The Position

The Science Teacher will be responsible for instructing students, developing lesson plans, and integrating innovative teaching methodologies to inspire a love for science. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in various scientific disciplines, possess effective teaching skills, and be committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

Requirements

Demonstrated expertise in teaching science at the high school level.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
Committed to working with under-served students.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science Education, or a related field
Valid teaching certification in Missouri.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive, standards-based lesson plans in accordance with the school's curriculum.
Integrate technology, hands-on activities, and real-world applications to enhance the learning experience.
Effectively deliver engaging and interactive science lessons to students at various grade levels.
Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Foster critical thinking and scientific inquiry skills among students.
Administer regular assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
Collaborate with other teachers to analyze assessment data and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Implement and enforce school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and conducive learning space.
Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and enthusiasm for learning.
Stay informed about current trends, research, and developments in science education.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on student progress and address concerns.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events to promote community involvement.
Collaborate with colleagues within the Science Department and across other disciplines to enhance interdisciplinary connections.
Participate in department meetings and contribute to curriculum planning and development.
