About The Position

The position will be trained to help with on-going community science research in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and then creating simple and engaging content to share with the public. Roughly 70% of the time will be science-oriented, with the other 30% science content creation. Science projects may include bird banding, salamander monitoring, butterfly education, and phenology monitoring, among other projects. Media elements could include video shooting, articles, and interviews.

Requirements

  • Science background or field research experience
  • Proficient in writing short content for publication
  • Willing to be on camera, comfortable advocating for and promoting science literacy
  • Personal Vehicle
