The School Psychologist functions as a team member in a collaborative and consultative relationship with school staff and parents. Services include direct involvement with children and indirect help through working with teachers and other staff members who have contact with children. The School psychologists tailor their services to the particular needs of each child and each situation. The working model is based on the growth and development orientation, which recognizes the prevention of problems, capitalizing upon the uniqueness of a child’s development and emphasizing the positive aspects of a child’s behavior.
