About The Position

Completion of psychoeducational assessments for students enrolled in the Tilton School. Provide consultation for school and clinical staff and actively participate on treatment teams and the Committee on Special Education in concert with clinical, education, and residential staff to facilitate effective education and treatment for individual students.

Requirements

  • M.A./M.S. in School Psychology required; NASP accreditation preferred.
  • Current State Education Department Certification as a School Psychologist. Provisional certifications will be considered.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License

  • NASP accreditation preferred.
  • One year of post graduate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Academic and Cognitive evaluation of residential students enrolled in the Tilton School and other students as deemed necessary by the Committee on Special Education or Supervising Clinical Psychologist
  • Works in concert with Treatment Team to complete Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA’s) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP’s) for educationally handicapped students as deemed necessary by the Committee on Special Education with on-going analysis of collected data to be determined the effectiveness of the Interventions.
  • Assistance for clinical and educational staff in counseling students in crisis situations.
  • Active participation in educational planning meetings and standing member on Tilton School Committee on Special Education; attend and participate in home school district CSE meetings for Day Service students, as necessary.
  • Provision of in-service training for designated staff as requested by agency administration.
  • Maintenance of current knowledge of changes and developments in the education and identification of students with Special Education needs, including up-to-date knowledge of psychoeducational assessment materials and generally accepted ethical practices, with recognition of the impact of trauma upon a student’s treatment.
  • Provision of input into Tilton School quality improvement activities.
  • Other related tasks as requested by the School Principal.
