About The Position

Hudson Public Schools is seeking a long term sub for a School Psychologist at Hudson High School. The LTS School Psychologist demonstrates professional expertise in psycho-educational assessment practices, interventions and crisis preparedness and response. School psychologists provide services to help all students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally and support student growth and development. Conduct comprehensive evaluations for special education process, conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments, write and implement Behavioral Intervention Plans, provide IEP services, provide counseling for students in general and special education. Consult with staff regarding student needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Massachusetts DESE license preferred and MA School Psych license required
  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive psycho-educational assessments in accordance with federal and state special education regulations and district policy for cognitive, academic, social/emotional, behavioral, adaptive behavior, sensory/motor and other factors pertinent to the student's learning capacity.
  • Write evaluation reports and interpret assessment findings to students, parents, staff and other pertinent parties
  • Assist in the identification of students who are at risk educationally
  • Assist staff in the assessment of relevant student data
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of behavior management programs and behavioral support plans.
  • Provide crisis counseling and intervention as well as group counseling to address academic, social and developmental concerns
  • Participate in various school-based teams to assist in the intervention and planning of programs
  • Connects families with service providers as needed
  • Provide training/development for staff as required
  • Collaborate with all members of the education team
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding personal and work/school related information for all students and staff of the district.
  • Other duties as specified by the Principal or Curriculum Director.
