The School Office Assistant performs a broad range of administrative, clerical, and support tasks at a school location. This role may also provide occasional assistance to the School Principal or Assistant Principal as requested. The duties include greeting visitors, answering and screening calls, assisting staff, students, parents/guardians, and community members, and monitoring students in the office. The assistant schedules meetings and appointments, prepares agendas, reserves facilities, records minutes, and may coordinate travel. Other responsibilities involve drafting various documents like letters, memorandums, reports, and newsletters, and providing support for school projects. The position requires organizing and maintaining file systems, including IEPs, databases, personnel and student records, and processing attendance and registrations. The assistant operates word processing equipment for document creation and revision, manages incoming and outgoing mail, performs budget monitoring and bookkeeping, and handles ordering and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
