About The Position
Mystic Valley is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to support the health and well-being of our students. The ideal candidate is an experienced and caring professional who enjoys working with children and excels in communication and collaboration. This position includes both clinical and administrative responsibilities and requires an individual who is committed to fostering a safe, healthy, and supportive school environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
- Prior experience in a school or educational setting preferred
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate students presenting with illness or injury
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns, including early dismissal when necessary
- Educate students on hygiene, illness prevention, and general health and safety practices
- Review and verify immunization and vaccination records
- Respond to and coordinate care during medical emergencies
- Develop and oversee school health and wellness initiatives
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health and medical records
