About The Position

As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing care according to Individual Healthcare Plans developed by our certified school nurses. Your responsibilities will include administering medications to students as per healthcare provider orders, maintaining accurate student health records (including immunizations), conducting health assessments, providing first aid or necessary referrals, escorting medically fragile students with BSD transportation, assisting with diabetic care (including the administration of insulin and emergency medication), conducting vision and hearing screenings, and supporting other licensed nursing procedures as directed by the school nurse. Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Special Education - Health Services, you will utilize your extensive health expertise to ensure the well-being of our students. As an ideal School Nurse, you excel in various health areas and can adapt to work independently or collaboratively. Effective communication and quick situational assessment skills are crucial for effectively meeting the diverse needs of our students.
Requirements
- Candidates must possess a current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field
- Available to start immediately
- Willing and able to work in person throughout the duration of the assignment
